Managing Pain When the Weather Changes

Tuwing lumalamig ang panahon o parating ang ulan, maririnig na ang mga aray nila Lolo’t Lola dahil sa joint pain o di kaya muscle soreness. Pero sanhi ba talaga ng muscle pain ang weather? Meron bang scientific basis ito? Ano ang mabisang sore muscles treatment? At mas importante, may muscle soreness remedy ba sa ganitong sakit?

Weather Change and Managing Joint Pain

Kahit napakatagal nang observation ito ng maraming pasyente, wala pa ring iisang sagot o explanation ang pain na sanhi ng weather. Marami nang studies ang nagawa tungkol sa link ng atmospheric change at chronic pain, tulad ng pag-analyze ng malawakang data (weather vs. pain tracking), controlled studies, at questionnaires. Mula rito nagkakaroon ng ilang theories ang mga researchers at scientists:

Isa sa mga ito ay mababasa sa Practical Pain Management journal: Hindi dahil sa ulan o lamig mismo, kundi dulot ng barometric pressure (madalas ding tinatawag na atmospheric o air pressure) ang nararamdamang sakit sa joints1.

Madalas, kasama ng weather change ang change din sa barometric pressure, tulad ng pagbaba nito tuwing bumabagyo. Ang effect naman sa katawan ay ang pag-expand ng tissues, na naglalagay din ng pressure sa joints. May effect din sa nerve endings, kaya lumalala ang pain. Ilang factors na considered sa ibang hypotheses ay low temperatures at humidity.

Upang labanan ang ganitong pain, tandaan na temporary lamang ang aggravation o increased pain. Stay warm at gumalaw-galaw pa rin. Subukan ang ilang gentle exercises tulad ng yoga at tai chi.

Weather Change and the Right Muscle Soreness Remedy

Ayon sa CNN health, ang isa sa mga muscle pain causes na weather-related ay cold temperature2. Mas hardworking ang muscles sa malamig na panahon, kaya mas may damage sa muscle tissue. Dito nagmumula ang soreness.

Ngunit hindi pa rin clear, consistent, at measurable ang weather-migraine connection, ayon sa researchers. Kasama sa mga posibleng dahilan: maraming triggers ang migraine (pwedeng sabay-sabay) at maraming components ang atmospheric conditions (kasama ang dust, na trigger rin).

Karagdagan sa ilang previously mentioned elements ng weather change—temperature, humidity, at barometric pressure—ang sunlight bilang trigger. Mahalaga itong alalahanin dahil mahaba at intense ang summer natin, kung kelan prone tayo sa dehydration. Kaya lalo na pag napakainit ng panahon, uminom ng tubig para iwas sa migraines at headaches.

For relief that works para sa mild to severe headaches at migraines, subukan ang over-the-counter pain reliever tulad ng Paracetamol + Propyphenazone + Caffeine (Saridon). Maaari rin itong gamitin para sa fever, headache, body pain, dysmenorrhea and toothache.

Muli, tandaan na temporary ang pain (o ang paglala ng existing pain) kung weather-related ang trigger. Bumabalik ang panahon sa nakasanayan, at nag-aadjust din ang human body sa atmospheric changes.

Mahalagang i-maintain ang healthy state of mind at optimistic o positive mood, para makatulong rin sa physical healing at well-being. Take things day by day unti-untiin ang pain management goals at expectations. Alamin ang mga muscle soreness remedy o gamot sa migraine na available. At huwag mahiyang i-share ang burden ng pain at harapin ito sa pamamagitan ng iba’t ibang methods of relief.
